1148 sq. km, wilderness area & consist of rich wildlife including Himalayan tahr, ghoral, musk deer, weasel & black bear, wolf, lynx and snow leopard. This national park is also famous for Sherpa community. It is also included in World Heritage Sites.

Shey Phoksundo National Park

The largest National Park covering an area of 3555 sq. km. Full of virgin forests harbouring one of the world's best habitat of snow-leopard, blue-sheep, ghoral, musk deer, wolf and other wildlife. Also known as hidden valley of crystal mountain.

Royal Bardia National Park

Bardia

This National Park includes some of the last remaining of grassland that once covered much of the Gangetic Plains. Bardia is the home o f wide varieties of animals such as deers, ungulates, monkeys & wild elephants.

Rara National Park

One of the smallest National Park but scenic and covers one of the beautiful corniferous forests. This National Park is named after pristine lake Rara which is the biggest lake in Nepal.

Khaptad National Park

Khaptad is a plateau of grass land & forest at an elevation of about 3000 mtr.

Makalu Barun National Park

Sankhuwasabha

It has some of the richest & most unique pockets of plants & animals in Nepal, elsewhere lost to spreading human habitation. Wildlife includes Red Panda, Clouded leopard, black bear etc. Arun river system contains 84 varieties of fish.

Sukla Phanta Wildlife Reserve

Mahendra Nagar, Kanchanpur

October - April

This reserve is one of the last remaining habitat for threatened animals like hispid hare and pygmy hog. This is an important habitat for swamp deer, blue bull, porcupine, hog deer etc.

Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve

Rukum , Baglung, Myagdi

Spring - Autumn

This reserve is one of the prime habitats of Blue-sheep, a highly priced trophey animal. Controlled hunting is allowed with proper licence & in certain seasons of the year.

Annapurna Conservation Area

Mount Annapurna Region

Throughout the year

This place is recognised as a natural paradise. Upper sub-alpine forest harboures rare animals such as leopards & Blue-sheep. This conservation area is an exemplary destination for eco-tourism.
